How social media is making the sales process a little easier
One thing's for sure, social networks give your sales team one of the best opportunities to find and connect with potential customers. Last week I ran a workshop for a client who has one sales manager out on the road.
He quite articulately pointed out that you get very tired of the usual conversation starters to break the ice at meetings. The weather, latest sports news, politics, scandals, art works in the clients office don't always show how much you really care about them or their business.
This is where they felt Twitter and LinkedIn would be so useful.
Their sales staff would be able to listen to conversations and updates from potential customers well ahead of scheduled meetings giving them ample insights, topics and other relevant ice breakers.
Those light weight interactions carry through to the boardroom to form very useful tactical ways your staff can foster more constructive relationships with conversations that are relevant, meaningful and personal.
Just a little insight I thought worth sharing. leave a comment or Tweet me @justinflitter if you have others like this your team use.
