Is Facebook the new Email Newsletter?
Back in the day Email Marketing was all the rage and in some companies it still is. The ultimate solution for Direct Marketing.
Now people are paying less attention to emails and are numb to flashy newsletters or just don't have time to read them.
Is the Facebook Fan page taking over from Email Newsletters? Is it the new answer for direct marketing?
Several times in the last few days I have found myself referring to Facebook as a Social Newsletter where members don't just read, they participate. It can offer cost savings and a more personal level of engagement where members have more4 control over what they engage with. It also increases the level of brand participation.
So what do you think email marketing gurus? Am I nuts or is incentivizing people to move off email to Facebook the way to go? After all it's still a channel that can be leveraged in similar ways
